Dr. Mattie Moss Clark International Music Institute
A Higher Sound For A Higher Purpose
Honoring a Legacy That Helped Shape the Vision
The Dr. Mattie Moss Clark International Music Institute at the NCT Christian Campus Plex, has been officially established in honor of a pioneering woman whose sound, discipline, innovation, and uncompromising standard of excellence helped transform gospel music and influence generations of choirs, musicians, directors, and worship leaders. For Elder Jessica Reid, Founder and Visionary of the NCT Christian Campus & Plex, that legacy is also deeply connected to the creative foundation of this campus vision. The distinctive sound associated with Dr. Clark’s ministry—the power of massed voices, intricate arrangements, musical precision, spiritual intensity, and the ability to make a choir communicate a message beyond the notes—helped shape Elder Reid’s own understanding of creativity, excellence, presentation, and ministry. As the NCT Plex vision was developed by God through Elder Reid, those influences became part of a larger conviction: that what is created for God should be purposeful, innovative, spiritually grounded, and executed with excellence. Naming this institute in honor of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, therefore, recognizes not only what she contributed to gospel music history, but also how the sound and standard she helped establish continued traveling through generations, inspiring new ideas and helping to shape the creative imagination behind the NCT Christian Campus Plex. “Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.” — Psalm 33:3 (KJV)
The Vision. The Mission.
The Dr. Mattie Moss Clark International Music Institute at NCT is envisioned as a living extension of godly influence, artistic excellence, and generational legacy—a distinguished institution where legacy becomes instruction, inspiration becomes preparation, and musical excellence is developed for purposeful service. Established under the leadership and campus vision of Elder Jessica Reid, the Institute will serve as an international center for the education, development, and advancement of choirs, choir directors, musicians, quartet groups, bands, worship leaders, composers, producers, professors, and students from diverse cultures and musical traditions. Through comprehensive academic and applied learning environments—including music classrooms, rehearsal halls, auditoriums, specialized music suites, band rooms, production and recording spaces, a music library, professor suites, and dedicated performance and stamina-training facilities—the Institute will provide a rigorous environment in which students can strengthen their technical proficiency, creative expression, leadership capacity, and spiritual formation. Its mission extends beyond developing exceptional performers; it seeks to cultivate disciplined, innovative, spiritually grounded leaders who understand that their gifts carry both purpose and responsibility in service to God, the Church, and communities throughout the world.
In honoring the extraordinary legacy of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, Elder Reid and the NCT Christian Campus Plex make a deliberate generational statement rooted in biblical standards, excellence, honor, stewardship, and godly gratitude. Dr. Clark's influence represents more than a historic contribution to sacred music; it demonstrates how disciplined musical excellence, spiritual conviction, and visionary leadership can shape generations. The Institute will carry that principle forward by preparing emerging worship leaders, musicians, educators, composers, directors, and creative professionals to build upon a foundation of excellence while developing the distinctive sound and leadership required for the future. What once inspired Elder Reid as an apostolic visionary and architect of the NCT Christian Campus Plex will become an international environment for higher learning, worship, creativity, research, innovation, collaboration, and opportunity. In this way, the Dr. Mattie Moss Clark International Music Institute will preserve a significant musical legacy while simultaneously investing in what comes next—ensuring that the pursuit of a higher sound for a higher purpose continues to strengthen churches, transform communities, bridge cultures, and inspire generations throughout the world.
